Celebrate Local Women Entrepreneurs
Women entrepreneurship needs to be recognized as an important untapped source of economic growth globally and locally. Research shows that women-owned businesses have an economic impact of $3 trillion that translates into the creation and maintenance of 23 million jobs—that is 16 percent of all U.S. jobs. According to National Women’s Business Council, these jobs not only sustain the individual worker but contribute to the economic security of their families, the economic vitality of their communities and the nation.
Join as we hear from 3 local women entrepreneurs:
- Corrine Campbell, Owner of Corrine’s Closet
- Karen Conn, Owner Conn’s Hospitality Group, Inc.
- Emily Lewis, Owner of Three Twigs Bakery, Biscuits + Brunch, and The Salted Lemon Market and Creamery
We will learn how they got started and the obstacles they have been faced with. Why did they choose to invest in Springfield? Who were their role models? What advice they have for other women thinking about becoming the next business owner?
Our monthly programs are open to all IWIL members and their guests. Registration is FREE during COVID-19. Pre-registration is required by April 13.
*IWIL is unable to provide refunds. If you cannot attend an event for which you have registered, we encourage you to send someone in your place. Simply have your guest indicate at the check-in table that they are your substitute. We appreciate your understanding.
